This year marks the 19th anniversary of Western Pennsylvania's Annual All Service Academies' Ball. The Ball recognizes the men and women who attend our five U.S. Service Academies and offers an opportunity to meet the dedicated cadets and midshipmen who are preparing for military leadership.
The Ball raises funds for charities in support of Western Pennsylvania's nearly 500,000 active, retired veterans, and their families. This year funds raised will be focused towards the issues of PTSD, and the mental health challenges facing our community.
2017 marks the 70th anniversary of the Air Force; and the Air Force cadets from the class of 2018 will be the 60th graduating class from the US Air Force Academy. As such, the Air Force is pleased to honor the Tuskeege Airmen for their contributions in World War II. We are fortunate to have as guests of honor, the Tuskeege Airmen who were P51 Mustang pilots during the last world war. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Tuskeege Airmen Memorial of the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
At the formal event, the attending cadets and midshipmen, along with their dates, are individually presented in a Grand March by this year's toastmaster, Mike Harvey, WTAE Chief Meteorologist. A formal sit-down dinner follows with To be Announced as the Guest of Honor. The evening concludes with dancing until midnight.
This year, along with dancing after dinner, play some casino games! During the Ball each cadet and midshipman attending will receive free 'play money', and more 'money' will be available for purchase by family and friends. Great prizes will be awarded at the Ball - items every cadet, midshipman, family member or friend will want!
We are asking for you financial assistance to support the ball. Western Pennsylvania All Service Academies' Ball is a tax exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
